Ever since I began my journey as a photographer as a serious endeavour, not just a hobby, the month of December has been a time of review. Looking back at my work for the past year, and as the years have passed, looking further back to how I have evolved as a photographer. As I began reviewing this year, I came across an early experiment in macro photography while wandering around downtown Toronto one day in December 2018, on my way to a lecture at the University of Toronto.

Looking at these photos again has made me want to restart a project I began back then, capturing natural elements intersecting and interacting with human-made objects.
